About VSG

Sleeve Gastrectomy is a surgical weight loss tool in which the stomach is reduced to about 25% of its original size, by surgical removal of a large portion of the stomach, following the major curve. The open edges are then attached together (often with surgical staples, glue and possibly cauterization) to form a sleeve or tube with a banana shape. The procedure permanently reduces the size of the stomach and is performed laparoscopically and is not reversible.

FMM Jan 23, 2012

It’s Monday again, and you know what that means!  It’s time for Friend Makin’ Mondays so let’s get started…

 FMM: Short Answers


  1. Mac or PC? PC, I have no Mac experience.
  2. Do you paint your own nails? Yes, toes sometimes.  I have gel nails though.
  3. Beach or mountains?  Beach, Totally.
  4. What’s the title of the book you’re currently reading? The Hunger Games Trilogy.  I'm halfway through Catching Fire right now.
  5. Do you dance?  Badly. White girl has no rhythm
  6. CNN or Fox News?  I don't watch the news.
  7. Do you ride a bicycle?  Only at the gym.  My bicycle hasn't been ridden in gosh... at least 6 years.
  8. Do you get a yearly flu shot?  Yes, I have asthma so if I don't, I usually end up in the hospital months later with pnemonia.
  9. Best movie you’ve seen in 2012?  So far I've seen The Change-Up... it was pretty good.
  10. Do you prefer to workout at home or at the gym?  I'm too lazy to go to the gym but I do prefer to work out there over doing it at my home gym.  I make less excuses when I'm at a REAL gym.
  11. Last airport you were in?  Comox, Vancouver Island, BC 
  12. Married or single?  Married
  13. iPhone or Android? iPhone
  14. Do you prefer to be in pictures or taking pictures?  Both.  I like to take them more than be in them I think though....
  15. Favorite brand of sneakers?  I've only ever worn Saucony so... those I guess 
  16. Do you like snow?  Sometimes. I live in the land of snow so there's days that it totally sucks
  17. Do you have/want to have kids?  I don't want any but I do have a step-son who's 16
  18. Summer or Winter? Summer. I'm a fair weather lass 
  19. Do you know how to swim?  Yes, I was on the swim team in high school :) 
  20. Do you prefer to shop in store or online?  Mostly in store, the eye buys for me.

    LOL - white girl with no rhythm! That's just funny! In my post, I compared my hubby's rhythm with a wet noodle.

    FMM visitor...We rented The Change Up but were too busy to watch it. We'll have to check it out soon. I was on a swim team when I was a young girl. Sadly I haven't put on a suit since 1998 and won't for some time to come. Congratulations on your weight loss, you've done great!

    I read the Hunger Games trilogy too. And I wore Sauconys for years, though I switched a couple years ago.

    we have virtually the same answer for the flu shot! When I get sick, I'm SICK for weeks. Like sick, sick. I understand. Here's to a healthy season for us!
